On Tuesday, January 29, the Częstochowa Icon was carried in a procession through the streets of Benalup-Casas Viejas, from the chapel of El Tajo to the church of Nuestra Señora del Socorro (the Most Holy Virgin Mary of Constant Help). The procession was led by the pastor, father Jesus Heredia Reyes. At 5.PM he welcomed the Mother of God at the church and then he continued the procession which was attended also by the local authorities.
On Wednesday morning, January 30, The Mother of God was visited by children and in the evening at 6.PM She arrived in Algeciras, the industrial seaside town, just opposite Gibraltar. The Icon was welcomed in the parish of St Joseph the Worker, where over 70 people attended the adoration. During the Holy Mass at 7.30 PM the priest ardently encouraged the congregation to get involved in the defence of life. He also prayed for the city affected by the plague of killing the unborn, as there has been an abortion centre there for many years. So many people attended the Holy Mass that they ran out of the Holy Communion for the faithful. Next the Holy Rosary for the defence of life and family was said. The prayers ended at 9.PM.
On Thursday, January 31, the Mother of God stayed at the church of St Joseph the Worker untill 11.30 AM. Next she was carried to Colegio de Nuestra Señora de los Milagros (the school of the Holy Virgin Mary of the Miraculous Medal), run by the Sisters of Charity. In the schoolyard all the students, around 600 of them, said the Angelus prayer. The children sang songs in honour of Our Lady. The Icon stayed at the school (at the sisters` chapel) till 7.30 PM.
At 8 PM the Black Madonna was awaited by another pro life group at the church of the Most Holy Immaculate Virgin Mary in the town of Línea de la Concepción. A beautiful vigil had been prepared there. The church was full as over 200 people came.
