The visit to San Vicente de Paul Parish in El Esfuerzo village, 30 minutes from Santo Domingo in the direction of Quevedo (19 km.), was a surprise to the parishioners.
Fr. Yofre Moreno the local parish priest, welcomed Our Lady in Her Icon with love, but unfortunately, because of ignorance of the people towards iconographic representation of Virgin Mary, the attendance was scarce. In any case, this was a good opportunity to make known the history of the Icon of Czestochowa.
On Saturday night the Holy Rosary was recited in front of the Icon and then the Holy Eucharist was celebrated. On Sunday October 1, at 11:00AM, the celebration was especially dedicated to the Mother of Our Savior. The parishioners could learn more about the Pilgrim Icon and why She is traveling the world.
The Sunday morning catechesis was also designed to teach more about this prolife initiative that invited our Lady to travels the continents from Ocean to Ocean. From 9:00AM to 11:00AM the children preparing for First Communion and the young people preparing for Confirmation listened attentively to the explanations of the catechists.
